"Playing the Occultist"

Films: Beyond the Door (1974)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: Unknown, posesses average sized humans.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: They say that for the child of evil to be born, a demon must make it so by force. Possession is usually the go-to solution. But is that whats really going on here?

History: Jessica Barrett was a mother of two expecting a third. But recently, she hasn't been herself. She vomits green muck, and her head unscrews at times. A demon has taken her body so that she gives birth to the Antichrist, and he's not alone. An ex-boyfriend of Jessica by the name of Dimitri has made a deal with the demon so that the car accident that claimed his life never happened, and is helping it continue its possessive crusade.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: In the end, the demon reveals that there is no big Antichrist scheme afoot, and his manipulation of Dimitri was merely a source of amusement. The demon sends Dimitri's soul to Hell, frees Jessica, and she has a regular son.

Powers/Abilities: Posession

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-Put together, this is just one big Exorcist rip-off. Nothing new here is achieved. With that said, this demon is particularly mouthy near the end, not that Dimitri didn't deserve it.

Trivia: -This film was released in the UK as "The Devil Within Her".

-The demon was voiced by Edward L. Montoro, who had a hand in producing this film, and other exploitation films across the 70s and 80s.
